In Romania a new case of African swine fever (ASF) was recorded at the farm in the province of Calarasi in the heart of the country, pigua.info reported.

More than 20,000 pigs must be disposed due to the ASF at one of the farm of the village of Dragaline. The media reported that the carcasses there would not be burned, but buried on the territory of the enterprise. As a result, local residents fear that this could lead to water contamination in the zone. In addition, Romanian journalists pay attention to the fact that the sanitary norms are not observed at the farm.

Now in a neighboring country 927 outbreaks of African swine fever were recorded. Over two months, more than 300,000 animals were destroyed.

Outbreaks of ASF also registered in Ukraine, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
